The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Wednesday’s homicide in Oceano.

Investigators say Daniel Fuentes, Sr., 41, died at a neighbor’s home after saying he’d been shot.

It happened shortly after midnight in the 2200 block of Beach St.

Sheriff’s detectives are asking anyone who lives in the area and may have home surveillance video during the night of April 2 to the morning of April 3 to contact the sheriff’s office at (805) 781-4500.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to a detective about the incident are also urged to call. Anonymous tips can be made by contacting Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-STOP.

This was the second homicide in Oceano this year. Detectives are still investigating the death of 90-year-old Lawrence Bross who was found dead in his home in the 1400 block of Strand Way on Jan. 24. Investigators say the two cases appear to be unrelated.
