CHP officials say an 18-year-old man turned himself into police Saturday after crashing his car into a building, multiple cars and a pedestrian the night before in Isla Vista.

Friday night, Danyale Guy was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima when he accelerated backward, hit a pedestrian and three parked vehicles in the parking lot of the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive.

Guy then accelerated forward and hit a building, which caused the natural gas line to rupture and significant structural damage.

Guy backed up the car, spun around and hit a fourth parked vehicle.

Guy ran off and abandoned his car in the 700 block of Camino Pescadero.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene for her injuries.

At about 4:20 p.m. Saturday, the Santa Barbara CHP officers say they received a call from the Santa Barbara County Public Defender’s Office saying Guy wanted to turn himself in.

A few hours later, Guy was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.

CHP says alcohol is a possible factor.
