The man who investigators say caused a deadly crash Monday in Nipomo was arrested for driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The California Highway Patrol says Aleksandr Moiseyev, 28, of Aptos crossed the double yellow lines as he rounded a curve on Pomeroy Rd. near Sandydale Dr. and crashed his small SUV into a pickup truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the pickup, a 57-year-old man from Nipomo, died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
Moiseyev was reportedly taken to the hospital with major injuries and later arrested.
