Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash over the weekend in Santa Maria as Richard Kittle, 44, of Shreveport, Louisiana.
It happened Saturday afternoon on Broadway near Preisker where Kittle crashed into a semi-truck, which police say was making a legal left-hand turn.
Kittle was in the Santa Maria area for a construction project he was working on, police say.
The Highway 101 on-and-off ramps to Broadway were closed during the investigation.
Police say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash and traffic was not congested at the time; however, the investigation is ongoing.
