Cal Poly investigating fraternity for alleged hazing, alcohol violations

Posted at 4:53 PM, Apr 24, 2019

Another Cal Poly fraternity is under investigation for allegations of hazing and alcohol violations.

Phi Kappa Psi is on temporary social probation as of April 23, 2019.

According to the university’s website, the chapter can not participate in any activities in which alcohol may be present while the investigation is ongoing.

The fraternity is reportedly accused of violation of law, university policy, alcohol, hazing, conspiracy to haze, and endangerment.

Cal Poly officials said they could not provide any further details at this time since it is an open investigation.

It’s the latest fraternity to face suspension or sanctions by the San Luis Obispo-based university.

Cal Poly has suspended both Tau Kappa Epsilon and Lambda Phi Epsilon for at least two years because of hazing violations. The two fraternities will have to apply to be able to return the university.
