A developer is proposing to build two hotels adjacent to the San Luis Obispo Regional Airport.

The proposed hotels would be 100 rooms and 118 rooms.

According to a report by the San Luis Obispo Architectural Review Commission, hotel amenities would include outdoor patio and dining areas, meeting space, fitness rooms, breakfast areas, and hotel guest bar. The larger hotel would also have an outdoor pool.

They’d each be three stories tall with flat roofs and contemporary styling.

The two hotels would be located next door to each other, bordered by the airport on the south and west sides, Broad St. to the east, and SLO Brew Rock and the businesses in the Aerovista Business Park to the north.

The Architectural Review Commission looked over the plans at its March 18 meeting and gave direction to the developer regarding design, colors, materials, and other features. Next, the applicant must submit a development entitlement. The Architectural Review Commission will take another look at the project at that time and make a recommendation to the Planning Commission.
