The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate a possible witness in a homicide investigation.

Lawrence Bross, 90, was found dead in his home in the 1400 block of Strand Way on January 24.

Detectives are now looking for a man believed to go by the name “Jimmy.” He is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, approximately 6’1″ tall with a thin build, and dark brown hair that is described as somewhat long and bushy.

The man was seen wearing a jacket with the color green on it, possibly a letterman-style jacket. He is reportedly associated with an older model four-door sedan, possibly a Ford, dented, and gray or dull silver in color. It may have been seen on Pier Avenue.

Sheriff’s investigators say this man was seen with Bross on Tuesday, Jan. 22, and detectives would like to speak with him.

Anyone with information about this man or the investigation is urged to call (805) 781-4500.

Investigators previously asked anyone who had contact with Bross in the two weeks before his death or who lives in the area of Strand Way and may have video surveillance from the time of the homicide to contact authorities if they have not already done so.

The sheriff’s office says an autopsy has been performed but the cause of death is pending toxicology results.
