Cal Poly University released more information on the recent fraternity hazing incident at Sigma Pi.

Media Relations Director Matt Lazier said the fraternity ordered new recruits to attach suitcases to their legs and drag them around campus.

The university said they received reports that the fraternity was involved in hazing in fall 2018. They said the “actions included the humiliation of its pledges, causing mental and emotional distress.”

The university also said the chapter gave members alcohol during its recruitment and pledging process, and sometimes gave minors access to alcohol.

Sigma Pi is suspended until June 15, 2019. The fraternity is on social probation until Spring 2020.
