A swearing-in ceremony was held Monday morning for Morro Bay’s new police chief.
Jody Cox officially took on the role as police chief on Nov. 3, 2018.
Monday’s ceremony included members of the police force, city leaders and other allied agencies.

Cox had been acting police chief since August when Gregory Allen resigned.
He has worked for the Morro Bay Police Department since 2012 and was promoted to commander in 2016.
