An inmate who reportedly stole a van and escaped from the California Men’s Colony last month has been found.

CMC officials confirmed the information Friday afternoon, also saying the van had been recovered.

David Gray Hall was reportedly found in a park in the southwest area of Los Angeles and taken into custody at 10:55 a.m. on Friday. The vehicle was found nearby, according to prison officials.

Hall is reportedly being taken to the California Institution for Men, a prison in San Bernardino County. State prison officials say his case will be referred to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of escape charges.

Hall, 26, was discovered missing Oct 30. during an inmate count.

CMC officials say Hall was a minimum-security inmate who was assigned to work in the prison garage. He was serving a five-year sentence for second-degree robbery and was scheduled to be released on parole in December 2019.
