The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport is looking to add more flights.

Airport Deputy Director Craig Piper says they are currently focusing on San Diego, Portland and Dallas, although nothing in the way of service has been confirmed.

Piper says those three are their focus cities right now and appear the most likely for new service.

He adds that passengers are also inquiring about flights to Portland, and Dallas would allow more opportunities for those heading east.

“The more we can have a little further east to a major hub to provide those connections reduces the amount of time people have to (spend to) get where they are going,” Piper said.

Adding any of the flights would open up more opportunities, more locations, and more choices, according to Piper.

The airport was recently named the best airport/transit project by Engineering News-Record.

Currently, Alaska, American and United airlines offer service to and from the airport.
