San Luis Obispo YMCA deemed safe to operate after partial ceiling collapse

Posted

Staff at the San Luis Obispo YMCA say they are nearly ready to reopen after part of the building’s ceiling collapsed earlier this week.

Firefighters are still trying to figure out what caused the collapse in one of the old racquetball rooms on Thursday.

On Friday, the city deemed the building safe to operate.

The YMCA says it will reopen Sunday at 10 a.m.

Racquetball will stay closed until improvements are completed to the room that was damaged.
