Neighbors say they’re feeling uneasy after police shut down a portion of South 9th Street for a suspicious death investigation in Grover Beach.
After conducting a welfare check,investigators found a woman deceased in her home just before noon on Thursday. The woman’s identity and cause of death have not been released.

Several neighbors described the woman as a ‘private person.’ She reportedly had a dog and many are left wondering if the dog is in safe hands.
Meanwhile, residents are keeping a close eye on the neighborhood after crime scene tape left them feeling on edge.
“There’s a feeling of unrest. Our hearts are hurting because you know she’s another family member, she’s a neighbor,” said Sue Strebin, who lives nearby.
Small remnants of evidence and crime scene tape remain at the scene. Grover Beach Police have not released an update on the investigation.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
