UPDATE (10:00 p.m.) – A police unit is still at the scene of a suspicious death investigation in Grover Beach, but police appear to be clearing out.
9th Street has reopened in the area.
UPDATE (6:00 p.m.) – Investigators are searching through a car, which is believed to belong to the woman who was found dead.
A KSBY crew at the scene says officers were taking pictures of the inside of a white Jeep.
UPDATE (5:00 p.m.) – Grover Beach police say they are trying to figure out the exact time of death of a woman who was found dead in her home on Thursday morning. The cause of death is also under investigation.
Neighbors say they saw investigators taking the woman’s body out of the home around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
UPDATE (4:30 p.m.) – Grover Beach Police say the woman who was found deceased in a residence Thursday morning will not be identified until next of kin is notified.

UPDATE (3:45 p.m.) – Grover Beach Police say a “suspicious death investigation” began around 11:45 a.m. Thursday when law enforcement tried to conduct a welfare check on a woman.
Officers went to a residence in the 200 block of South 9th Street. After arriving at the scene, police found a woman who was deceased and called for additional units.
Officers did not release any other details.
Grover Beach police, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies, and representatives from the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office are at the scene.
Grover Beach Police Department is currently investigating a “suspicious death” on the 200th block of S Ninth Street.

Police released very little information on the person who died, but did say it was an “older woman.”
Grover Beach police are investigating a suspicious death in the city.
Police have a section of 9th Street blocked off between Rockaway Avenue and Longbranch Avenue as the investigation is ongoing.
A Grover Beach police commander at the scene confirmed it was a suspicious death investigation.
