If you want it, you can probably find it on Amazon, right?
We’ve tracked down deals on everything from trendy kitchen appliances (hello, Instant Pot) to Halloween costumes to a hammock that comes with a built-in mosquito net. In fact, you could probably fill an entire home with nothing but Amazon purchases.
But, what if you could buy your entire home with a single click? Spoiler alert: you can.
Buying a house on Amazon is not a new concept. Most of the dwellings listed by the online retailer are tiny homes, which continue to be trendy as people look to simplify their lives. One that we found for sale at Amazon offers a bit more space to stretch out, however. It’s a cottage kit from Allwood and it looks pretty darn charming.
We’re not talking about a palatial mansion, of course, but the Allwood Avalon Cabin Kit has all the makings of a nice home for the right buyer. The Avalon Cabin has 540 square feet on the ground plus a loft that measures 218 square feet. Two designs featured on the listing at Amazon include a three-room version and a five-room version, both of which you can see here.
The Nordic wood — which comes in a finished or natural color and can be painted on both sides — gives the cabin a light and airy feeling and the 8-foot 2-inch high walls allow enough space on the first floor for even the tallest NBA player! You could build the perfect family room for relaxing or entertaining.
You can also see the ladder leading to the loft in this picture. The ladder can be switched for a curved staircase if that’s more your style.
When you’re ready to call it a day, you can opt to transform one of the allocated rooms into your own personal retreat. A cozy bed with a nice view from the window would offer a stylish little getaway.
We also like the bathroom featured on the cabin listing. It looks like a natural spa with all the sunlight coming into the room from the double-glass windows, which are included in the kit, along with everything needed for construction except roofing shingles and the foundation.
The bathroom fixtures, including the sink and toilet, are not included in the price, so you can design your home in your own style and with your own budget. The bathroom was a point of contention among the few reviewers that have graded the cabin kit on Amazon, with a couple buyers being upset that the only door to it comes from the home’s exterior, which isn’t ideal for cold-weather areas.
The kit is listed at $32,990 on Amazon and the listing clearly points out that this is a DIY build. So, you will need a little sweat equity to get the job done. The description estimates a one-week construction timeline for two adults. Step-by-step instructions are included to make the job as easy as possible.
Shipping for the cabin kit is free and should arrive within 90 days of purchase. That should give you enough time to round up some friends for the ultimate do-it-yourself project!
