UPDATE: Tornado Warning canceled by National Weather Service

UPDATE (10:40 p.m.): The Tornado Warning issued by the National Weather Service has now been canceled.

The NWS says the storm has weakened and does not appear capable of producing a tornado.

ORIGINAL STORY: The National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm with the potential to produce tornadoes was located about 10 p.m. near Montecito, Santa Barbara, Summerland and Carpinteria.

The storm is bringing winds close to 45 mph.

The tornado with continue to move north into the Santa Ynez mountains around 10:15 p.m.

NWS says to "move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. "

Take shelter from flying debris. If you are in a mobile home or vehicle, you should take cover next to the closest substantial shelter.

The warning expires at 10:30 p.m.
