Good morning Central Coast!

The sunshine and winds that marked the weekend were in full force Monday, high temps even climbed a few degrees. That being said the sundowner winds peaked along the Gaviota Coastline with winds up to 45 mph.

To kick of Tuesday morning you can expect more of the same with temps rising a couple of degrees today. The good news is that there is no fog to contend with on the morning commute.

Today will be another sunny one with highs in the mid 70s for our interior and coastal valley communities and 60s by the beaches. Abundant sunshine is still the story as we continue with the pattern set in place this weekend.

Winds are still a big story. Gusty northwest to north winds will continue across the region. The worst of these will be along our western beaches and in passes, peaks, and canyons of Santa Barbara County. There are a few wind advisories in place thanks to wind gusts up to 45 mph.

Where there are winds there are also waves. That is true today with a high surf advisory still in place for all of our western beaches through 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet and dangerous rip currents expected.

The next few days will bring a bit more warming as the winds slowly shift offshore wednesday night. This will tee us up for the warmest day of the forecast on Thursday. Interioers are looking into the 80s.

Farther ahead there are a few wrinkles to contend with. A upper level trough of low pressure is forming in the north pacific and will move south into the weekend. For us this means cooler temps, cloud cover and some rain chances. Now this is a long way out and there is still a lot of model disagreement. We will keep a close eye on this moving forward, just don't count of Saturday staying dry.

Have a great day Central Coast!
