Happy Thursday Central Coast!

Some sunshine and cooler weather made for a mild Wednesday as many headed out to holiday festivities. Significant cloud cover did not cause too many concerns but brought temps down to just below normal.

Here is a look at the high temps for Christmas Day/the first night of Hanukkah.

To kick off the morning it is a little on the chilly side but the thick cloud cover that was featured yesterday is clearing and sunshine will be the story across the Central Coast today.

Highs today will increase by a few degrees. The south coast can even expect some 70s today.

That being said there is still a cold front pressing south picking up winds, mainly in Santa Barbara County. There is a wind advisory in place for the Southcoast and interiors of Santa Barbara County through noon Friday.

While the surf has calmed significantly there is another swell on the way. In advance of that there is still a surf advisory in effect through 4 p.m. Sunday. Some local sets up to 15 ft are once again possible.

Turning to our weather headline, our Friday rain chance. A weak weather system will brush by the Central Coast late tonight into Friday morning. This will bring light rain to most communities through Friday lunchtime.

Most of the system will face drizzle more than true rain in the early morning. Northwest SLO county may see up to three tents of an inch on the high side but most will see just hundreths of an inch of rain accumulations.

Sunday and Monday will bring mostly sunny and dry conditions, with temperatures several degrees above normal away from the coast

A cooling trend starts Monday, with temperatures in SLO and Santa Barbara Counties dropping to several degrees below normal by Tuesday.

Here is the bottom line. Expect a windy evening with clearing skies, a slight chance of light rain mainly for SLO County Thursday night into Friday and again on Sunday, and fluctuating temperatures through the next several days.

Have a wonderful day Central Coast!
