Good morning Central Coast!
Clouds are here to start the day once again on a gloomy note. There is even some drizzle expected this morning as the water-saturated marine air is forced over higher topography. For us this just means needing to turn on those windshield wipers for a moment but not much more. A minimal impact but still something I wanted to highlight.
Temps today aren't going to change that much, still a few degrees below seasonal averages with beaches near 60, coastal valleys near 70 and interiors in the 80s.
Clouds will still be the story into the afternoon as interiors and coastal valleys clear but beaches will linger. Thankfully this afternoon Avila and Pismo Beaches may see some sunshine. This is all thanks to the topography and south facing nature of the beaches. Enjoy the sun this afternoon, most western beaches will not get a chance to.
As we push into the weekend temps are set to fall a little. Just a few degrees of cooling will pull us farther from seasonal normals. That being said the "normal" May cloud cover will stick around.
Slight warming is expected into next week with more sunshine possible.
Have a great day Central Coast!
