Good morning Central Coast!
Tuesday was a cloudy one across the region with more onshore flow and a deep marine layer is keeping temperatures cooler than usual, thankfully a change is the pattern is headed our way with gradual improvements into the weekend.
Night and morning fog, along with occasional drizzle, are still in the forecast for coastal, valley, and foothill areas, with partial afternoon clearing. This will be minimal but that risk is still there through Friday morning.
In the short term, as low-pressure systems move through California, cooling aloft has deepened the marine layer, reaching around 5000 feet. While Tuesday saw a brief respite with some sunshine, temperatures remained notably below normal.
Today that same cloud cover is in place. Temps will stay on the cool side, most communities only in the low 60s.
As we move into Thursday and near the weekend a warming trend will move in alongside a ridge of high pressure.
Temperatures should gradually return to normal levels over the weekend and even exceed them slightly by Monday. However, a subsequent cooling trend is forecast by Tuesday, likely continuing through the following week as another cold upper low descends from the Pacific Northwest.
Stay tuned for further updates as this dynamic weather pattern unfolds.
Have a great day Central Coast!
