Good morning Central Coast and happy Election Day!

Despite sunny skies and mild temps, there is some concern for today as winds pick up alongside fire weather! With that said, let's dive right in!

Clear skies are kicking off the morning and without any dense fog to cause concern roads are picture-perfect for the morning commute! Check out this beautiful sunrise over Morro Bay to kick off your morning.

Today it is mostly sunny skies with some high-level clouds but winds are going to be the main concern. This isn't going to be a worry for polling places but into the over night hours it could make things a little tricky. Before I get to that here is a look at the temps today across the Central Coast.

70s in most communities with a few beaches in the 60s. That is close to normal for this time of the year. Here is that broken down into dayparts as well.

Diving into the alerts across the region, there are a lot of them so here we go!

Frost Advisory - Paso Robles area through 9 a.m.
Freeze Warning - Interior Valleys of SLO County through 9 a.m.

High Surf Advisory - Western Beaches through 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. Localized sets up to 10 ft and rip current risk is high.
Wind Advisory - High elevations and south coast communities facing gusts 60 to 70 mph with sustained winds 45mph and above through 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire Weather Warning - High elevations and south coast communities although all communities will face similar conditions. Low humidity and high winds will make for added fire weather concern.

All these winds are part of a powerful Santa Ana wind event that is expected to ramp up even more by mid-week. The pattern will stay windy through Wednesday but then sunny and calm conditions will be in place.

This weekend onshore winds will return and will bring back some morning fog and cloud cover.

Looking ahead in the forecast another upper-level low pressure system is headed our way and will bring more winds as well as a chance for rain. This is a long way out but I will keep an eye out for the Monday tuesday rain chance as we push through the week.

Have a great day Central Coast!
