Frigid temps return Friday morning, winds and waves calming quickly

Good morning Central Coast and happy Friday!

Grab that extra layer it is very cold this morning with many locations falling into the 20s to start the day.

Due to these cold temps a frost advisory is in place for western Santa Barbara County through 9 a.m. Even if you aren't included in the advisory region temps will fall to damaging cold for sensitive plants and animals. Take caution this morning and be sure to clear off your windshield before getting on the roads.

The surf advisory isn't the only alert in place, there is a high surf advisory lingering for our western beaches through 9 a.m.

Most of the beaches are seeing calm waves only up to 7 ft this morning, the advisory is in effect for a few more hours due to the risk of locally higher sets but the risk is mostly over.

Today's highs will be in the mid 50s with a few 60s mixed in.

Into the weekend sunshine is on tap with temps warming up a couple of degrees as well.

There is one small chance for rain saturday night into Sunday morning as a decaying storm plunges south. This will bring a few hundredths of an inch of rain, nothing too much to be worried about.

Into next week temps are going to warm even more. By the end of next week 70s are possible once again.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend Central Coast!
