Cooler morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s remain Friday, but changes in the forecast are on the way.

Patchy morning fog is expected over valley locations throughout the morning commute, but it isn't enough to prompt an advisory. By the afternoon, coastal and inland valley communities will have a mix of daytime highs from the mid-60s to the low 70s. As for the coast, temperatures will continue to hover mostly around the low to mid-60s.

Northwesterly winds will be gusty at times Friday, especially over Santa Barbara County. The south coast region of the county could experience gusts upwards of 30 miles per hour through Friday night, which could prompt an advisory.

A beach hazards statement will go into effect Saturday and last through Monday night as breaking waves along the Central Coast could range from eight to 12 feet.

Skies will be mostly sunny throughout the afternoon before clouds are expected to pile up over the southern portion of San Luis Obispo County as well as the Santa Ynez Valley. These clouds are going to linger through Saturday morning ahead of afternoon clearing.

The major change over the weekend ahead will be the increase in temperatures by Sunday. By the end of the weekend, valley locations and beaches will all likely have daytime highs in the 70s, and by Monday, valley locations could be back in the 80s.
