UPDATE (8:33 p.m.) - Firefighters say the fire was about 50 feet by 150 feet with multiple spot fires, and has been extinguished. The fire appears to have originated in a homeless encampment.
The fire completely destroyed a billboard along highway 101. There was no additional damage or injuries.

(4:47 p.m.) - Cal Fire San Luis Obispo and San Luis Obispo City Fire are responding to a 30x30 vegetation fire spreading at a moderate rate of speed near Elks Lane.
The fire broke out shortly after 4pm on Saturday at 222 Elks Lane, San Luis Obispo.
