The Ranch Fire, which broke out Tuesday night east of Pozo, has burned 55 acres and is 70 percent contained, according to CAL FIRE.
Tuesday night, firefighters estimated the fire had burned about 100 acres but after getting a fresh look in the daylight, determined the fire's perimeter was about half that size.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although fire officials on Tuesday reported a vehicle fire in the same area.
It is burning in the Los Padres National Forest near East Pozo Road and Avenales Ranch.
