A fire broke out Monday afternoon off Highway 166, east of Rock Front Ranch, between Santa Maria and New Cuyama.
It was first reported at about 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters were reporting the fire as about 3-5 acres in size and burning with a moderate rate of spread.
Santa Barbara County Fire and CAL FIRE SLO were assisting Los Padres National Forest firefighters in response to the fire.
