UPDATE (2:55 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Fire reports that forward progress of the fire was stopped at 2:10 p.m.
The fire burned mostly grass and no structures were ever threatened, according to firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(1:48 p.m.) - Firefighters in Santa Barbara County are responding to a brush fire in the 3900 block of Mission Dr. in Santa Ynez.
The fire was first reported just before 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fire has burned about two acres and firefighting crews are making good progress.
