A fire broke out Tuesday night near Big Sur leading to the closure of Highway 1.
According to the Los Padres National Forest, the Dolan Fire has burned 2,500 acres and is actively burning in all directions.
Evacuations are in place on the east side of Dolan Canyon and Highway 1 is closed south of Ragged Point in San Luis Obispo County to north of Slates Hot Springs in the Big Sur area of Monterey County.
According to Caltrans, there is no estimate as to when the highway will reopen.
