UPDATE (Saturday, Nov. 11, 10:53 a.m.) - The brush fire that broke out Friday afternoon at the top of the Cuesta Grade is 80% contained as of Saturday morning, according to CAL FIRE SLO.
The fire burned eight acres and the cause remains under investigation.

UPDATE (5:32 p.m.) - Forward progress of the fire has been stopped, according to CAL FIRE SLO.

UPDATE (4:37 p.m.) - CAL FIRE SLO reports that the fire is holding at eight acres.

UPDATE (3:56 p.m.) - The fire has burned 5-7 acres of grass and brush, according to CAL FIRE SLO.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(3:24 p.m.) - A fire broke out Friday afternoon along Highway 101 at the top of the Cuesta Grade, north of San Luis Obispo.
The fire is burning next to the northbound lanes of traffic.
It started shortly after 3 p.m.
Just one lane of northbound traffic is open through the area. All southbound lanes are open.
