UPDATE (9:25 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Fire officials say firefighters have stopped forward progress of the Drum Fire. Crews are still working on containment lines, but have the fire 20% contained.

UPDATE (8:15 p.m.)- Santa Barbara County Fire officials say the Drum fire has now burned around 40 acres. They say the fire is now 5% contained, and no structures have been damaged at this time.

UPDATE (6:31 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Fire officials say the Drum Fire has burned approximately 20 acres.
Drum Canyon Road is closed to traffic between Los Alamos and Highway 246.

(6:17 p.m.) - Firefighters are responding to a brush fire near Los Alamos in Santa Barbara County.
The fire was first reported just after 5:30 p.m. off Drum Canyon Road, south of the Los Alamos Cemetery.
A large plume of smoke can be seen throughout the area.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has called for a second alarm.
