Heat Advisory issued for Central Coast interior valleys

The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for the interior valleys in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.

It affects the cities of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Cuyama and Black Mountain.

Daytime highs are expected to reach 95 to 105 degrees in these areas with Friday and Saturday being the warmest days.

Paso Robles saw a high of 100 degrees Thursday and is expect to warm up even more this weekend.

These conditions can create a dangerous recipe for heat illnesses especially for the elderly.

The NWS says it’s important to stay hydrated, spend time in air conditioned rooms and limit time outside.

The advisory expires 8 p.m. Saturday.
