I am getting a lot of questions about Saturday rain chances.. it isn’t 0.. but I think the best chances are at higher elevations and in Santa Barbara county. Should be a green light for most activities.

The upper low which produced showers and some thunderstorms will pull off tonight into Saturday. For most the rain chances end tonight but for Santa Barbara county they could linger into Saturday afternoon.

The rain system is not pushing much activity this far west… as a result the rain projections have dropped dramatically.

Santa Barbara county has the best chance for Saturday rain.. looks like SLO county is too far north and west as the low pressure causing the rain retreats.

The good news is that temps rebound quickly, 70s for the coast Saturday with 80s inland and inland temps warm further on Mother’s Day into the mid-80s.

Saturday looks partly cloudy but Sunday into the middle of next week coastal night and morning low clouds and afternoon clearing will be the order of the day: a classic spring pattern.

There are significant questions about the forecast for the end of next week. Yesterday one popular weather model liked a potentially wet ending of the week but there was no consensus among major models with others staying dry. Today the model excited about rain yesterday was much more subdued today. As a result I am just keeping the end of next week dry for now but could change this portion of the forecast should models agree something will happen.
