As it was forecasted, the marine layer has made its return to the Central Coast. Commuters can expect a foggy morning for the coastal valleys and beaches. A dense fog advisory will remain in place through 9:00 a.m. for the Central Coast and Santa Ynez Valley. During the morning commute, visibility will be at a ¼ mile or less so drivers should allow some extra time to get to their destinations Thursday morning.

Due to the fog and marine layer, the beaches are cooling down to the 60s Thursday and the coastal valleys will range from the upper 60s to the low 70s. The high-pressure ridge over the state will actually keep daytime highs for the interior valleys fairly consistent and from the upper 70s to mid-80s.
