A low-pressure system is expected to move through the area later Tuesday night, which will bring the opportunity for light scattered rain showers through Wednesday evening.

Daytime highs for the area will still be favorable and mild Tuesday with temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Weather models are showing cloud cover over most of the coast and interior valleys of San Luis Obispo County through noon before more sunshine peaks through. However, very light rain showers cannot be ruled out Tuesday for the north coast as this system approaches the area.

Moderate winds will stay below 20 miles per hour Tuesday but could reach close to 30 mph by Wednesday as the low-pressure system moves in. By that point, off and on showers are in the forecast through the early Wednesday evening. This rain system is light and will likely produce 0.5’’ of rain for the mountains and foothills north of San Simeon. Otherwise, most of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties are expected to receive up to .25’’ of rain.
