A winter weather advisory has been issued for the mountains in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. With cooler temperatures expected to not go above the upper 40s and continued shower activity, 2”-5” of snow is in the forecast. The beaches and coastal valleys will experience more scattered showers throughout the afternoon with daytime highs close to the low to mid-50s.
A wind advisory will remain in place through 3:00 p.m. for the interior portions of San Luis Obispo County as wind gusts could potentially reach 40 miles per hour. Otherwise, most of the region will experience southwest winds ranging from 15-25 mph.
Back at the coast, a high surf advisory is in place through Wednesday afternoon as waves could reach 10-15 feet.
Looking ahead to the weekend, more rain is in the forecast, but rain models are indicating this system will likely be light and bring less than 1” of rain.
