Saturday also looks warm to downright hot with some cooling Sunday

Offshore winds drove a very warm Friday with plenty of temps in the 90s. Saturday looks very similar with beaches near or into the 80s with coastal valleys in the 80s to near 80 and inland temps also near 90.

Air is dry and we border Red Flag warnings to the south of us. Fire weather risk is high due to heat and dryness, only the lack of wind speed keeps us from an advisory.

Sunday we transition to a more NW onshore flow. Sunday still looks warmer than average but the night and morning marine layer returns next week for temperatures closer to normal. Next week also looks occasionally windy to breezy with a parade of cold fronts passing us to the north. I still think however temps run slight ahead of seasonal averages with 60s at the beaches to mid 70s to low 80s in the coastal valleys with interior valleys in the 80 to mid 80s.

Long range models like a more active pattern either at the very end of Oct. or into early November. Stay tuned.
