Inland heat backs off this week

Posted

Temperatures in the interior sections of SLO county have been nearly 10 degrees above average for several days but finally some relief developing this week as a trough of low pressure digs into the Pacific NW.  This trough will not deliver the cooler are immediately.  I think it is Wednesday when the inland temps drop back into the 80s.  At the coast there actually won’t be much in the way of overall change.

I do think we’ll see stronger winds and slightly cooler temps by mid to late week.  Afternoon winds should pick back up to about 25mph before calming in the evenings later this week.

So, for Tuesday I like low to mid 90s inland with low to mid 70s in the coastal valleys and 60s at most beaches.  Early clouds and afternoon clearing behind a NW wind to about 15-20mph in the afternoon.  Again, I think it is Wednesday when inland temps come back into the lower 80s.  Those cooler highs last til Friday before a little weekend rebound back into the upper 80s or lower 90s inland.  Little change at the coast.
