Morning low clouds cover beaches and coastal valleys

Posted

As temperatures gradually rise to triple digits for the inland valleys, the coastal valleys and beaches are starting the morning with marine layer and fog ahead of afternoon clearing.

Northwesterly winds will push that fog and marine layer out of the area by the early afternoon making for mostly sunny skies throughout the afternoon. Daytime highs at the beaches will vary from the low 60s to low 70s. Coastal valley temperatures are still within the mid-70s to the low 80s range and will slowly climb by about four degrees over the next three days.

The inland valleys will continue to feel the heat as high pressure strengthens over the west coast. Daytime highs on Thursday will be warm and from the upper 80s to upper 90s. Friday is still on track to bring triple digits back into the forecast for the interior portions but only hang around through the end of the weekend.

While marine layer and fog will clear up by the afternoon, monsoonal moisture could create some hazy sky conditions throughout Thursday.
