Temps stay mild thru mid-week before warming inland again

Posted

We are in between a weak trough to the west and a ridge to our east.  I don’t see a lot of change into the middle of the week in the general conditions.  So this will mean night and morning clouds at the beaches and near coastal valleys before decent clearing away from the beaches.  Temps will be in the 60s at the beaches and 70s to near 80 in the coastal valleys with lower 90s inland.

The good news about all this is that we have broken the consecutive triple digit heat record inland (which ended at 19 days for Paso Robles over the weekend).

We’ll see some increase of humidity and upper level clouds later this week, but I don’t see it producing rain locally.

The late-week will see high pressure building once again and inland daytime highs will hit 100 again for a few days before giving way to cooler highs early next week.  During this warm-up the coastal valleys will also warm into the mid 80s.  Next week inland highs back off and the marine layer returns near the coast and looks a little more extensive than it is now.
