Daytime highs starting to climb Friday

and last updated

The cooler weather that we had this week is leaving the area. Friday will be the transitional day for a warm weekend, especially for the inland valleys.

Temperatures will be in the low to upper 80s for the interior portions of the Central Coast on Friday but will continue to climb into the weekend and could potentially reach triple digits on Saturday and Sunday. Coastal Valleys and beaches will remain in the low to upper 70s on Friday but will also heat up as the weekend continues.

Patchy morning fog is looking to not be much of an issue Friday morning, although there might be some lingering cloud coverage along the coastline throughout the morning. Winds will be fairly mild throughout the morning but will increase heading into the afternoon and early evening. Areas like Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo will be in a 15 mile per hour range, while the north coast could get closer to 20 mph by dinner time.
