Winds increasing Thursday, daytime highs continue to cool down

Posted

The main shift in the weather Thursday will be with the winds. Thursday morning, winds will be relatively calm and similar to the conditions over the past few mornings, but by the mid-afternoon hours, winds will start to pick-up.  While these won’t be advisory level, the winds will range from about 10-15 miles per hour with potential for 20 mph gusts. The trend will continue into Friday and Saturday with opportunity for advisories.

Low clouds and fog will cover most of the coastal valleys and beaches Thursday morning before some afternoon clearing.

Marine influence will keep temperatures cooler at the beaches. Along the coastline, expect temperatures from the high 50s to mid-60s and mid to upper 60s for the coastal valleys. The inland valleys are still showing to be on the warmer side in the low to upper 70s. As low pressure builds over the area, partly cloudy skies and cooler daytime highs will continue.
