Patchy morning fog ahead of mostly sunny day

Posted

Central Coast residents will wake up to some patchy morning fog before 11:00 a.m. before afternoon clearing. Daytime highs will be close to seasonal averages. The inland and coastal valleys will reach the low to upper 70s, while most of the beaches will hang around mid to upper 60s.

Expect variable winds Friday morning throughout the area. Areas along the coastline, including Pismo Grover and Grover Beach, could see winds increase to 20 mph into the afternoon. There will be similar conditions in the Santa Maria Valley with gusts that could reach up to 30 mph by the evening hours.

A ridge of high pressure that is building over California will cause temperatures to increase on Saturday. The inland valleys could reach the low 80s, the coastal valleys will be in the mid to upper 70s, and the beaches will mostly be in the low 70s. Warmer temperatures will hang around until the middle of next week before a cooling trend that’s expected by Wednesday.
