Guggia carried the Knights to a 28-21 victory over Redwood last Friday night in the second round of the CIF Central Section Division 2 playoffs. Guggia racked up 152 yards on 28 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Branum, this week's female athlete of the week, is a sophomore on the Lompoc cross country team. Branum finished seventh among all sophomores at the CIF Southern Section Division 3 prelims last Friday in a time of 19:58.80.
"One of my biggest goals is to be league champ," Branum said. "I was second and third in league in some of our races this year, so I averaged out being third overall. Just being league champ would mean a lot to me, it would be pretty cool."
