We're gearing up for Week 8 of Friday Night Highlights and the beginning of Mountain, PAC 4, and Ocean League play.
Our Game of the Week features Mission Prep (2-4) and Morro Bay (3-3), two squads hoping to bring home the Ocean League title this season.
For the Pirates, they finished up their non-league schedule with a loss to St. Vincent de Paul last Saturday, 28-7.
Morro Bay says its tough schedule has gotten them ready for Mission Prep and the rest of its Ocean League opponents.
"Our preseason games were hopefully preparing us to come into league and do well, iron out all the kinks, and make sure we started clicking offensively and defensively," Morro Bay first-year head coach Jake Goossen-Brown said. "I think we've worked hard to prepare, and we're ready to go. We'll see how we play on Friday."
"We just need to come out hard and no underestimate our opponent on Friday because it's league play," Morro Bay senior wide receiver/safety Orion Solu added. "We've had the same energy all season. We might just need to amp it up a little bit to 110 percent, but we've been going all-out this whole season."
Morro Bay and Mission Prep will kickoff at 7 P.M. on Friday in San Luis Obispo.
