Lompoc and Arroyo Grande are two football teams that always seem to be trending in the right direction. Go figure, that’s the case yet again as the Braves and Eagles head into our Week 4 Game of the Week matchup.
We start our preview with Lompoc who is coming off a big win over Bishop Diego last Friday night, 17-7.
The Braves’ defense continues to shine having forced 10 turnovers so far this season, including three against the Cardinals alone.
This week, Lompoc will have to prepare for Arroyo Grande’s tough run-game which led to the Braves’ defeat last season, 24-10.
Could redemption be on the horizon for Lompoc this time around?
"Yeah, I think there are some guys on the team that have a sour taste in their mouth," Lompoc head coach Andrew Jones said. "We had an embarrassing performance last year against them, didn't play very well, struggled offensively, so hopefully we can get things rolling this week and get back on track."
"AG was the last full game I played in before I was injured," Lompoc senior wide receiver Ryan Morgan added. "You know, ending with a loss left a bad taste in my mouth, so I'm really looking forward to going out there and playing them again."
Lompoc and Arroyo Grande will play at Pioneer Valley High School Friday night at 7 P.M.
