Santa Maria wrapped up the 2018 campaign with a 3-8 overall record and 1-4 in the Ocean League. The Saints were defeated in the first round of the playoffs by Mt. Whitney.
Dan Ellington's squad will feature a bunch of athletes with varsity experience, including senior Dominick Martinez, who will be under center this season.
"I feel comfortable with this team," Ellington said. "I think they're going to come out and play hard every night. They're going to give their best effort, and we're going to do the best we can as coaches to prepare them."
"I hope we can make it as far as we can," Martinez added. "I just want to make sure everybody can say they gave everything they got."
Santa Maria will host Righetti on Friday, August 23 at 7 P.M.
