The Panthers finished 6-5 overall in 2018, 4-1 in Ocean League play, making the playoffs but falling short to Stockdale in the first round.
Pioneer Valley will move to the PAC-4 League this season, joining Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Nipomo. However, that isn't the only change the Panthers will experience. They'll also have a new leader roaming the sidelines as John Beck takes over head coaching duties, replacing John Ruiz.
Despite being in a new league, and having a new coach at the helm, the Panthers' expectations have not changed.
"The overall goal is always high expectations for myself, and making sure my coaching staff and myself are really giving these young men our best on a day to day basis," Beck said.
"I think our team is capable of winning every game," senior lineman Bruin Chapman added. "I assume that we're going to win a league championship. That's what we have in mind, and that's what we're looking forward to. "
The Panthers will hit the road to take on Oxnard to open the season on Friday, August 23 at 7 P.M.
