Week 6 of the high school football season was filled with tons of highlights and big plays. Our FNH ‘Player of the Week’ is St. Joseph quarterback Chase Artopoeus, while our FNH ‘Play of the Week’ belongs to the Paso Robles offense.
Artopoeus, a senior for the Knights, threw for 210 yards and three scores and rushed for 41 yards and another touchdown to lead St. Joseph to a 34-17 victory over Arroyo Grande. The Knights improved to 1-0 in the Mountain League. The Knights will have a bye week before hosting Atascadero on Friday, October 12.
Trailing in the 2nd quarter to Righetti on Friday night, Paso Robles opened up its playbook for some offensive trickery. Quarterback Braden Waterman connected with wide receiver Seth Maldonado on the right flank, Maldonado then heaved the ball to a wide open Levi Marshall for the touchdown.
The Bearcats were down by five at halftime, but the Warriors went on to win big, 52-20.
