A 2007 Cabrillo High School graduate, Kansas City Royals starting pitcher, Danny Duffy, was named the opening day starter for the Royals for the 2020 season.
This marks the third time in the last four years Duffy was named the opening day starter for the Royals. Duffy has been in the starting rotation since the 2014 season and won a World Series in 2015. The Central Coast native has amassed over 1,000 innings as a Royal and has a career ERA under 4.00.
The Royals will open their season on the road against AL Central foe, the Cleveland Indians.
