The Oceano Community Center was packed Wednesday afternoon for the start of the Sixth Man Basketball Academy.
The camp welcomes athletes from all over the Central Coast, ranging anywhere from 7-18 years old. The teams practice four times a week, and also complete in tournaments throughout California, from Los Angeles all the way to the bay.
“To be able to connect with so many kids is actually a blessing in disguise,” Sixth Man Basketball Academy founder Amaurys Fermin said.”Team bonding and team relationships, that’s what we’re about. We keep it a family program, and we want to continue to give back to the community.”
